What are the bag made of ?

• Corn starch/ PLA is a bio-based plastic derived from renewable resources, in this and most cases corn starch. Therefore PLA is often referred to as corn starch plastic.

 

• BPAT (is petrochemicals which is an non-toxic compostable oil product) it is PBAT that is added to make the product degrade quickly enough to meet the home compostable criteria.

 

What is the Compost time on Bags

In a home compostable environment break down occurs in 180 days,

Under commercial composting conditions in 90 days

Australian Standard is one of the most rigorous in the world and includes a worm toxicity test which means that our mailers are safe (The A5810 certification requires 95% break down 180 days)

 

What shelf life has the bags got?

12 months stored in a cool shaded area
